From ‘Organisation’ to ‘Community’
As part of our strategy, we’ve been thinking about how best to engage with you guys. How best can we structure ourselves to be as inclusive as possible, while empowering those we work with to really go forward and bring about change?
Our solution: why not move away from this idea of an ‘organisation at the top’? Why not instead think of ourselves as an impassioned group of people working together toward a common goal… a community for goodness if you will.
We like this approach for a couple reasons. Firstly, it embraces the burgeoning trend of co-creation and collaboration, a trend we hold very dear. We’d like to think of what we’re doing as both an open project and a work-in-progress. We hope that you all would add to our shaping SG as it grows and develops, and that we can all then feel a sense of ownership over it as we progress.
The approach also shapes SG as an umbrella under which people who are passionate about similar things can come together. Think of it as a great way to find and connect with your tribe.
We’re pretty excited about this approach, and we’ll be kicking things off with a very informal meet-and-greet coming up soon. Tell us what you think of this sort of strategy in the comments below. We’d love to hear from you, and we hope to meet you soon.
